A young fighter carried out a "cowardly" revenge attack on a former friend before stealing his Gucci hat and AirPods.

Joshua Sannoh, now 21, approached the victim from behind and attacked him, kicking him after he fell to the ground in a "Dutch courage" assault, a court heard.

Manchester Crown Court was told the attack happened near Charlestown Road in north Manchester on October 1, 2022, when Sannoh was 18.

Judge Elizabeth Nicholls described the incident as a "revenge attack" after hostility between the pair, but branded his actions "unacceptable".

Prosecuting, Helen Longworth told the court Sannoh, with a group of friends, approached the victim from behind.
