MOSCOW, Idaho — Thomas Ford Jr. spent two seasons on Jason Eck's coaching staff at the University of Idaho from 2022-2023. In that time, he fell in love with the Moscow community and felt drawn to return once Eck departed for New Mexico.

"When that job came up, I was just extremely hopeful that I'd get a chance, because I think this is a special place, and I know that we have a chance to win every year here. It's a family here," Ford said.

Coach Ford has had a winding road to become head coach of the Vandals. He has been a head coach twice before, at Stadium High School in Tacoma from 2014 to 2017 and at NAIA Simon Fraser from 2018 to 2019. He has also spent time on staff at the University of Washington, Oregon State, and of course, at Idaho.
