EVANSILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Transportation leaders from Indiana and Kentucky met with the public this week to provide updates on the I-69 Ohio River Crossing project and outline what’s next for the massive infrastructure effort.

The project, which aims to complete a vital north-south interstate connection from Canada to Mexico, is progressing steadily. Officials announced that the Henderson, Kentucky, portion of the crossing is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025.

“This is the last link on I-69 to get us from Canada all the way down to Mexico,” said Matthew Ubelhor, secretary of transportation for Indiana. “Getting this link done is critical for not only business, but for our traffic and safety.”
