Former TV personality Andrea Dearden will replace Scott Graf as the Idaho Department of Education’s communication director, said a press release from IDE public information officer Maggie Reynolds.
Dearden comes to the education realm after a long stint in public safety. She previously worked for the Ada County Sheriff’s office for 17 years, and is an adjunct instructor at the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. Prior to that, she was an anchor and crime reporter for Channel 7 KTVB in the early 2000s. Dearden was also a board member for the now-defunct DaVinci Charter School in Garden City.
“This opportunity brings together my two passions: education and communication,” said Dearden in the press release.
Dearden’s first day with IDE will be September 2.
