RAINSVILLE, Ala. - A DeKalb County jury on Thursday found Valen Edwards, 26, guilty of multiple charges related to child pornography.

The verdict was announced by District Attorney Summer Summerford.

Edwards was convicted of two counts of possession of obscene matter, one count of dissemination of obscene matter, and one count of electronic solicitation of a child. The charges stemmed from a 2021 investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

In March 2021, the task force received a tip about an image containing child pornography being sent via Discord. Investigators traced the IP address to a Rainsville location, leading to a search warrant and an interview with Edwards. During the interview, Edwards confessed to the offenses.
