PITTSBURGH, Pa. (BLACK AND GOLD NATION) - Steelers rookie Derrick Harmon's knee injury on Thursday night caused a scare to the team and fans. Less than 24 hours after the injury, NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that Harmon is dealing with an MCL sprain.
Rapoport is saying that Harmon is likely to miss a month with the injury. Rapoport is also pointing at the Oregon product as someone that can open the year on injured reserve, which would cause him to miss at least the first four games.
The defensive lineman was seen limping off of the field after cornerback James Pierre's interception against Carolina. Later, Harmon was carted off the field to be evaluated.
