CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A 19-year-old man accused of shooting a 16-year-old to death in Cranston will remain behind bars.

D'Maury Monteiro, of Fall River, waived extradition after he was arrested in Dorchester last week.

He was arraigned Friday in a Rhode Island courtroom on first-degree murder and weapons-related charges, then ordered held without bail.

On the morning of Aug. 11, officers arrived at a Dyer Avenue apartment to find Eduardo Loran Colon, of Providence, with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said nearby surveillance cameras captured the shooting. The footage reportedly showed Monteiro, Colon and another person at the apartment complex in a stolen car—all were masked and wearing dark clothes.
