DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning in what the South Carolina Highway Patrol is calling a hit-and-run.

It happened about 11:15 a.m. on East McIver Road, about six miles outside of Darlington. The cyclist was traveling westbound when a vehicle going the same direction hit the person and left the scene.

Authorities said the incident is being investigated.
