FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A person was killed Saturday morning in Florence County after Chevrolet pickup struck a ditch and then a tree, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

It happened just after 1 a.m. on Creek Road about four miles north of Timmonsville. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected to the left and then struck a ditch and tree.

Police said the driver died on scene.

No further information was immediately provided.
