SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Fire Department had to make a cliff rescue on Saturday, August 23. THe incident transpired approximately 50 feet from a cliff at the intersection of Sansome and Union Streets.
A coordinated rescue operation was established by the San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD). The victim was stranded on a steep hillside covered in brush. SFFD Truck 13 used its aerial ladder to reach the area, allowing firefighters and paramedics to access the victim.
The patient was secured and transported on a stretcher down the aerial ladder to a waiting SFFD Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance.
The victim was taken to the trauma center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
