DAYTON — The Virginia Quilt Museum celebrated its 30th anniversary Saturday with cake and ice cream, music, and, of course, quilts.
Some of the quilts on display at the museum are part of the museum’s 30th anniversary exhibition, which runs through Sept. 27. The pieces in that exhibit are made by 26 different artists or artist groups.
“We asked them to take our logo and make that into a quilt,” said Alicia Thomas, who is the museum’s executive director. “It was really fun to see all of the different things that people came up with for it.”
All 26 quilts featured in the exhibit are also part of an online auction, which opened Saturday. The online auction, like the exhibit, runs through Sept. 27.
