TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop at Tampa International Airport due to thunderstorms.
Departure delays are currently estimated at 46 minutes to an hour, though the FAA said the length of delays is increasing.
As of 1:35 p.m., the ground stop is expected to be in place until at least 2 p.m., but it could be extended if severe weather persists.
Arrivals are experiencing airborne delays of around 15 minutes or less.
