GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman who was struck while operating an electric scooter earlier this week died on Sunday, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

At around 4:51 a.m. Friday, Greensboro Police, Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS responded to the scene of the crash on Creek Ridge Road between Riverside Drive and US 29.

Brittany Danielle McDuffie, 25, of Greensboro, was operating an electric scooter traveling east on Creek Ridge Road when the scooter was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. She was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. She later died due to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that crashed into the scooter stayed at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
