AHOSKIE, N.C., (WAVY)-- A man is hurt after being shot early Monday morning in Ahoskie.

According to officials, officers were dispatched to the ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found that a 34-year-old man was suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations was contacted and they are assisting with this ongoing case.

Police have not released any information on where the initial shooting took place.

There is no suspect information.
