(WJW) — Drivers in Northeast Ohio can expect multiple OVI sobriety checkpoints this week, according to law enforcement officials.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that troopers will operate a checkpoint this upcoming weekend in Medina and Ashtabula counties.

According to a media release, the checkpoint in Medina County will take place Friday evening. There's been no word yet on the timing of the Ashtabula County checkpoint. Officials said, locations will be announced the morning of the checkpoints.

Separately, the Brook Park Police Department said it also plans to conduct an OVI checkpoint. In a media release, police said the checkpoint will be held the evening of Thursday, Aug. 28. The exact site will be announced on the day of the checkpoint.
