WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A 36-year-old man could face decades in prison after he pleaded guilty to a shooting that left a man dead and another hurt in Southeast D.C. nearly four years ago.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, Walter Jenkins, of D.C., pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The charges stemmed from the deadly shooting that took place around 4:47 p.m. in the 2000 Block of Alabama Avenue SE. on Nov. 14, 2021. There, officers located two people in the back of a vehicle on Bruce Place, who both had been shot.
