Local, state, and federal firefighting agencies are once again partnering with UBTech to offer the Fall Wildland Firefighting School. “Bringing this training to the Uintah Basin directly benefits our communities by strengthening wildfire response capabilities at a time when wildfires are becoming increasingly frequent,” shares Travis Hawkins with BLM Fire Prevention and Mitigation. “Conducting the school locally ensures firefighters are well-prepared and safe, communities are protected, and agencies across the region are equipped to respond effectively when the next wildland fire strikes.” Students that complete the program earn the certifications required to apply for firefighting positions at the local, state, and national levels.
