The UCP wants you to believe the Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) is about opportunity. They want you to believe it is about giving people with disabilities the dignity of work, the safety of health benefit, and the promise of independence. But if you look past the glossy talking points, you see something much harsher, a government that believes Albertans with disabilities should be forced to prove their worth through work.

On July 1, 2026, every AISH recipient will be moved into ADAP first. No exceptions.

People with the most severe, permanent disabilities, people who have already proven — sometimes through years of medical evidence — that they cannot work will be told to reprove it. They will be given less money while they do.

This is not compassion. It is a built-in panic
