BISMARCK — Do you have military keepsakes tucked away in an attic, closet or basement that are too ordinary to display, yet too meaningful to throw away?
Think of love letters your grandpa sent to your grandma during World War II, a medical kit your mom used as an Army nurse in Vietnam, or even a bottle of old sunscreen carried in Operation Desert Storm.
If so, the State Historical Society of North Dakota wants to hear from you.
The agency has issued a call for donations to expand its military collection. The most significant needs are items from 1945 to the present.
Archivists said a variety of items like this help preserve the personal side of history by connecting people to the human impact of historic events.
“These resources are invaluable for researchers and future generations
