THOMSON, Ga. (WJBF) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced a person has been arrested in connection to the shooting that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old last week.

On Aug. 22, 22-year-old Santanna Mance of Thomson was arrested at residence and charged with one count of Murder, one count of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

Mance was booked into the McDuffie County Jail.

The GBI stated that D’Corby Benning, the deceased, was shot just before 11 p.m. on Edgar Circle near Gordon and Main Street in Thomson on Aug. 17. Benning was taken to Piedmont McDuffie Hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to the GBI, additional arrests are pending.
