BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- Beginning next week, lane closures will be scheduled on Interstate 70 between Blue Springs and Grain Valley.

Starting on Tuesday, Sept. 2, lanes will be narrowed on I-70 eastbound and westbound for work in the median until November 2026. There will also be intermittent left lane closures on I-70 eastbound and westbound during the night hours until Sept. 26.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting traffic modifications on I-70 between Missouri Highway 7 and just east of Jackson County Route BB. This is part of the Improve I-70: Blue Springs to Odessa project.

A third lane will be added in each direction to I-70 from just west of MO Route 7 in Blue Springs to approximately MO Route H.
