FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) -- A juvenile boy has been arrested on attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting and burglary at a Florence apartment complex over the weekend.

The boy has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of first-degree burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful carry of a weapon, and breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature.

It happened shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday at the Sedgefield Apartments on Valparaiso Drive, according to police. A group of juveniles was returning home when they noticed a person in the bushes near the door. They attempted to drive off when the suspect fired several times, striking the vehicle.

The boy was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
