There are many, many reasons to loathe the Tampa Bay Rays; but no reason is more honorable than the fact that they invented the opener. The Red Sox, fresh off demoting Walker Buehler to the pen but, apparently, not quite enthralled with any of the current depth options, are going with one tonight in Brennan Bernardino. The Orioles are countering with Tomoyuki Sugano, who is a good starter in addition to being an actual starter.
