So we’ve got good news and bad news regarding the weather ahead of tonight’s highly anticipated matchup at Fenway Park. The bad news is multiple batches of rain of featuring downpours and some thunderstorms have formed over much of southeast New England this afternoon, and should continue to flare for the next few hours.
The good news? Instability in the atmosphere should steadily decrease as the evening wears on, meaning a window to play the game should open up at some point. Here’s a look at the radar right now about two and half hours before game time:
Again, while it’s ugly now, I do anticipate it will have a more opportunistic look around sunset. The bottom line: A delay is possible, but a rainout is unlikely.
