CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Two of Charlotte’s professional teams are partnering with a fast-food chain that's expanding rapidly into the Carolinas.

Texas-based Whataburger agreed Monday to partnerships with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC. It means the company will have a strong presence at Bank of America Stadium, with in-stadium activations designed to enhance the game-day atmosphere for both teams’ fans.

On Sept. 21, Panthers fans will experience the collaboration when the Whataburger Food Truck comes to BofA, serving complimentary Patty Melts and Prickly Pear Raspberry Whatafreshers.

Whataburger has made major inroads in the Charlotte area this year. It's opened locations in Gastonia and Indian Land, S.C., with others planned for Albemarle Road and in Mooresville.
