MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- The 42nd annual Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Tournament teed off Monday morning at several golf courses along the Grand Strand.
The annual tournament attracts thousands of amateur golfers from all over the country and even internationally to compete across several of the area’s top courses.
The golfing locations include courses like Myrtlewood Palmetto, Wild Wing, several Barefoot courses, Grand Dunes Resort course, Arcadian Shores Golf Club and more.
Participants are flighted by age, gender and handicap. The event features all playing abilities and is also one of the biggest women’s tournaments with more than 400 participants.
Players like Bob Szajnuk from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, are returning for another year of competition.
