Plans for the opening of Richmond Hill High School's state-of-the-art 10,000 seat football stadium had been in the making for more than a decade, and then the Wildcats' 2025 season opener with visiting Glynn Academy was washed out by a torrential thunder and lightning storm on Friday night.
The inaugural game was pushed back 48 hours, but Richmond Hill put on a show with its own version of Monday Night Football as the host Wildcats rolled to a 21-0 non-region win over Glynn Academy.
The home stands were nearly full as the city celebrated the stadium, which is part of a sparkling $97 million campus that opened its doors earlier this month.
