THE DALLES, Ore — A 59-year-old man arrested in Colorado on an unrelated warrant has been named as a person of interest in connection with human remains discovered in a storage unit in The Dalles last month, police said .

Richard Michael Robinson, also known as "Mike," is from The Dalles and also has spent time in Klickitat County, Washington. He was arrested Sunday by the U.S. Marshals Service in Berthoud, Colorado, on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Robinson is being held at the Larimer County Jail pending extradition to Oregon, The Dalles Police Department said .

Robinson has been named as a person of interest, but not as an official suspect, in the human remains case.

The investigation began July 29 when The Dalles Police Department responded to a storage
