BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Questions are now being raised about seatbelts on charter buses following Friday's deadly crash in Pembroke.

On Friday, New York State Police Major Andre Ray said it was too early to determine if seat belts were being worn on the bus.

Ray noted that many people were thrown around in the bus, with multiple people being ejected.

National Transportation and Safety Board member Tom Chapman said Saturday, it appeared the bus was equipped with seat belts.

Chapman says the NTSB's investigation will look at the extent to which seatbelts were being used and the extent to which the lack of seat belt use may have factored into some passengers being ejected.
