LANDIS — South Rowan beat Union Academy 14-10 on Friday, the third straight year the Raiders have beaten Union Academy.

South head coach Chris Walsh is 5-0 in openers, as South opened by beating Parkland in 2021 and 2022.

South got a big defensive effort and was able to win despite turning the ball over five times.

“It was a tough one,” Walsh said. “Union Academy is always good. Not pretty. but we got the win, even with a lot of our boys getting their first meaningful varsity reps.”

The workhorse for the Raiders was running back Jayden Arthur. He had 21 carries for 29 yards.
