Local staffing firm Morton reviving old Xperts brand after California acquisition

A local IT staffing firm is expanding its capabilities after its owner’s latest acquisition – and using the deal as a reason to revive an old Richmond brand.

Mark Morton, founder of namesake, Scott’s Addition-headquartered Morton, recently acquired the mobile and web app development arm of Berkeley, California-based software company Crowdbotics.

As part of the deal, the arm of Crowdbotics has been renamed to Xperts, and is now headquartered out of Morton’s office at 1008 N. Sheppard St. The acquisition includes a team of about 25 employees from Crowdbotics.

Terms of the deal, which closed in late June and was announced last month, were not disclosed.
