GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska Trucking Association is using the Nebraska State Fair to spotlight career opportunities of all types in the trucking industry as the nationwide shortage of workers continues.
The group’s President and CEO Kent Grisham said the need is significant across Nebraska.
“There are probably 2,000 jobs available for diesel technicians somewhere in the state,” Grisham said.
Beyond drivers, Grisham stressed the importance of jobs like diesel technicians, calling the role both highly skilled and essential to keeping the industry moving forward.
New federal training requirements for commercial driver’s licenses have added to the shortage, with prospective drivers now required to complete certified training programs. Those courses are offered at many Nebraska
