ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – Beach erosion on Isle of Palms has left homeowners more vulnerable to flooding caused by high tides and storm surge.

During a council meeting Tuesday night, Isle of Palms city leaders will see a presentation that will touch on a major beach renourishment and current beach conditions.

Officials say Breach Inlet has experienced rapid beach erosion over the past few years, and experts add that without a comprehensive beach management plan, the erosion on the barrier island will only get worse.

Tuesday night’s Isle of Palms City Council is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside council chambers at city hall.
