In August, I went home for the first time in more than a decade.

If that sounds like a long time to stay away, there's a reason for that. You see I'm English, so heading back to some of the old haunts requires more than just a trip up Interstate 40 or a short flight from Wilmington International Airport.

But it was a great trip, from Windsor to Wales and Liverpool to the Lake District, seeing some old favorites and new sites and catching up with family. Yet one experience still sticks with me the strongest when I look back at my holiday.
