CHARLESTOWN – A Clark County man was arrested Sunday afternoon after being stopped for driving 117 mph on State Road 62.

On Sunday afternoon, Trooper Rob Caudill was stopped at a pull-off on the south side of State Road 62 just east of Charlestown and monitoring traffic. Around 3:45 pm, Trooper Caudill heard a vehicle accelerating as it approached his location. As the car came into view, he observed it to be a white Chevrolet Corvette and clocked the car with his in-car RADAR travelling eastbound at 117 mph in the 55 mph zone: 62 mph over the maximum speed limit. The driver then quickly slowed as he passed Trooper Caudill’s location, and Trooper Caudill performed a traffic stop just west of Decker Lane.
