(WSPA) -- The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) Law Enforcement Division will conduct courtesy boat inspections at public boat landings across the state during the Labor Day weekend.

These inspections, scheduled for August 30, 31 and September 1, aim to ensure the safety of boaters during one of the busiest times of the year on South Carolina's lakes and waterways.

SCDNR boating safety and enforcement officers will perform quick but thorough inspections for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations.

Boaters who are not in compliance with safety regulations or registration requirements will not be ticketed during these complimentary inspections. Instead, they will be given an opportunity to correct any issues before launching their boats.
