COLUMBIA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources reports it will be conducting courtesy boat inspections over Labor Day weekend.
SCDNR said it will perform quick but thorough inspections for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations.
Anyone not in compliance with safety regulations or registration requirements will not be ticked during the complimentary inspections but will be allowed to fix the issue before the boat launches, SCDNR said.
Boat inspections in the Upstate will take place at the following times:
Greenwood County at River Fork and Lake Greenwood on Aug. 30
Oconee County at Fall Creek, Lake Keowee, Twin Lakes and Lake Hartwell on Aug. 30 and Sep. 1
Anderson County at Seneca Creek and Lake Hartwell on Aug. 31
