LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — As Hunger Action Month starts in September, leaders with Feeding Kentucky want to raise awareness and take action.

Food insecurity continues to be an issue across the Commonwealth, and that’s why Feeding Kentucky will hold its annual kickoff event for Hunger Action Month at God’s Pantry Food Bank in Lexington.

Every September, Hunger Action Month highlights food insecurity and the crucial role food banks play in supporting families. This event recognizes the hard work Kentucky food banks and partners have done to provide reliable food access to homes in all 120 counties.

The organization says one out of six Kentuckians is experiencing hunger, which is why they are calling on everyone to take action to make sure their neighbors are fed.
