GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR) -- Severe storms rocked the New York State Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 24, and had fairgoers running to cover.
The strong winds and heavy downpour left behind a significant amount of damage on the fifth day of the New York State Fair.
The next morning, August 25, vendors stepped into the sixth day with optimism and full hearts after taking several blows from Mother Nature.
"It came out of nowhere, and the whole tent was shaking," Phil Galuppi, owner of Stix and Things, said. "I started to see other vendors' signs went flying...everyone was just running for shelter."
Luckily, returning vendors came prepared.
