GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department is investigating a homicide after finding a woman dead on Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called to the 1500 block of McConnell Road in Greensboro on Monday in reference to a "cardiac call." After arriving on scene, officers located 35-year-old Meyling Mercedes Carrion-Ruiz dead.

Details as to how Carrion-Ruiz died have not been released, though police are treating her death as a homicide.

According to the Greensboro Police Department, this is the city's 26th homicide so far in 2025.
