CHICAGO — For the second year in a row, the 2025 Polar Express holiday train rides at Union Station have been canceled.

According to organizers, the cancellation is due to reconstruction happening above the iconic downtown station, which is the same reason as last year's canceled event.

Organizers posted the following update on the official Polar Express website:

We regret to announce that THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride will not operate in Chicago in 2025 due to extensive city street reconstruction above Union Station. We understand this event is an important experience for families and hope to return in the future. We encourage guests to visit PolarExpressRide.com to view other officially licensed locations in the region.
