GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Greensboro Police Department is investigating a homicide after a 35-year-old woman was found dead on Monday afternoon.
At around 1:36 p.m. on Monday, the Greensboro Fire Department, Guilford County EMS and officers came to the 1500 block of McConnell Road after getting a "cardiac call."
Police found a 35-year-old woman, Meyling Mercedes Carrion-Ruiz, dead at the scene.
Investigators say details regarding how Carrion-Ruiz was killed are still under investigation and that her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Carrion-Ruiz's death is the 26th homicide of the year in Greensboro.
