York Regional Police say a man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with an overdose death in Vaughan last year.

Police say they responded to a call at a home in the Bathurst Street and Ner Israel Drive area on Sept. 15, 2024.

The coroner later determined the death to be an overdose, investigators said in a news release Tuesday.

Following "an extensive investigation," police say they identified a 29-year-old man from Georgina they allege is responsible for trafficking drugs in York Region.

Police say they executed a search warrant at the suspect's home earlier this month.
