MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Public Safety South Texas Region Brush Team and U.S. Border Patrol Rio Grande Valley teamed up and located three men who were in the U.S. illegally.

The two agencies are part of an ongoing anti-smuggling operation in McAllen.

Troopers and agents located the men, two from Mexico and the other from Colombia, hiding inside irrigation pipes after spotting a makeshift ladder near the border wall.

The men were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol for removal proceedings.

This capture highlights Texas’ ongoing mission to secure the border, curb illegal immigration, and prevent getaways under Operation Lone Star, DPS stated.
