SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- When you think of a vending machine, some favorite snacks may come to mind, but one elementary school in Spotsylvania County is dispensing a different treat.

On Friday, the Cedar Forest Elementary School unveiled its new book vending machine with a ribbon-cutting. The new machine sits in the hallway, featuring dozens of children's books.

So, how does it work?

School officials noted that students will earn books by practicing good citizenship and maintaining good attendance.

Then, during the student's birthday month, they will choose a book to celebrate. • (Spotsylvania County Public Schools) • (Spotsylvania County Public Schools)
