Nelson County High School has updated its entry procedures for sporting events to include the use of metal detectors.

For indoor events, spectators will enter the main entrance of Nelson Middle School. For outdoor events, metal detectors will be set up near the original entrance for games.

Important guidelines for spectators: refrain from bringing items that contain metal, such as vapes, pocketknives, small hand tools, and umbrellas (ponchos are encouraged). Before passing through the metal detectors, spectators should remove their cellphones, wallets, and car keys.

Be mindful of items that could trigger the detector and avoid bringing them to the games. Spectators who do not comply with these guidelines may be asked to return items to their vehicles for entry. Those w
