A memorial service celebrating the life and legacy of longtime activist Ann Brown will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the community room at Oak Lawn Place, 5723 Sadler Circle in Dallas.
Light refreshments will be available, and everyone is welcome to attend. Those attending are asked to consider wearing purple, her favorite color, in Brown’s honor.
Brown died earlier this month at her home at Oak Lawn Place following an extended illness. Her days as an activist dated back to the 1970s. The was an early Dallas Gay Alliance member and an organizer of the 1979 March on Washington. She also worked on Bill Nelson’s two city council campaigns.
