GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department is hoping to get funding for several projects for the 2026 fiscal year, as the City outlines its final plans for a budget.

The Department presented four capital projects to the City Council when putting together their budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year, including:

Island Oasis Renovation - $15,900,000

Ryder Baseball Field Improvement - $3,313,004

Stolley Train Area Improvement - $2,250,000

South Locust Street Trail - 4,300,000

Assistant City Administrator, Pat Brown said maintaining the Parks in Grand Island is a big priority to the City.
