GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Guests at the Nebraska State Fair had the opportunity to watch a live sea lion show, and learn more about the things that have caused some species of the creature to be listed as endangered.
Sea Lion Splash travels the country and puts on shows at different events to teach and impress.
The show lasts about 25 minutes and showcases the sea lions doing a variety of different tricks like waving, kissing and singing.
According to trainer, Daniel Rodriguez, it’s more fun than it is a job.
“It’s not really a work,” Rodriguez said. “It’s more like we play with them. All the stuff they do in the show, it’s fun for them.”
The sea lions were eager to show off their skills for some fresh fish, and enjoyed the applause from fairgoers.
