As Erin moves away, Stein says ‘North Carolina dodged a bullet’

As Hurricane Erin moved away from the Outer Banks on Friday afternoon, Governor Josh Stein told first responders and Dare County and state officials that “North Carolina dodged a bullet with Hurricane Erin.”

Some businesses “took it on the chin and some homeowners experienced real damage to their property,” he said, during a media briefing at the Dare County Emergency Services Building on Roanoke
